Fit modes explained

  • Always start from the highest-resolution source available — resizing down is always better than scaling up.
  • Use PNG for screenshots, logos, and anything with sharp edges or text.
  • Use WebP at 85% quality for photos — it gives JPEG-level quality at smaller file sizes.
  • With Cover mode and non-matching aspect ratios, check the preview to ensure no important content is cropped.

How do I resize an image without losing quality?
Use PNG output for lossless resizing. For photos, WebP at 90%+ quality is nearly indistinguishable from the original. Avoid upscaling — enlarging a small image always reduces perceived sharpness.
What does "aspect ratio lock" do?
When locked, changing the width automatically updates the height (and vice versa) to maintain the original proportions, preventing the image from appearing stretched.
What is the difference between contain, cover, and fill?
Contain fits the image inside the target dimensions with letterboxing (transparent or white bars). Cover fills the target dimensions by cropping the edges. Fill stretches the image to exactly fill the box.
Can I resize in bulk?
Currently the tool processes one image at a time. Each takes under a second, so sequential resizing is fast for small batches.
What is the maximum image size supported?
The limit is your browser's available memory. Images up to 50 megapixels work reliably on modern devices. Very large images (100 MP+) may cause the browser to slow down.
